The Contarini Palace was built in the 14th century as the residence of the Contarini family. The famous Bovolo staircase was later added to the palace and named for its snail shell shape. In Venetian dialect the snails are called “bovoletti” for this reason the Venetians called it scala del bovolo.
Our art masters inspired by this story designed the Contarini fountain pen designs in rollerball and ballpoint pen versions. Venice’s centuries-old symbols and customs meet modern taste and find expression in the Contarini pen. It is from the careful selection of symbols that are the result of collective memory, and their encounter with the present, that historical and modern design come together to create objects rich in history and personality.
